 Jemison
Place is a supported
living program for single parent families and displaced homemakers who are
homeless or in imminent danger of becoming homeless.
Jemison Place and The Supported Living Program are designed to remove a
families’ reliance on public assistance. Eligible applicants who are
willing to work toward this goal may be accepted as residents of Jemison
Place. In addition to the Program, Jemison Place provides independent
apartments with affordable rents.
A consortium of Livingston County service providers, known as
The Housing Task Force,
have joined together to support this effort and help the residents of
Jemison Place.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Eligibility to participate in the program of Jemison Place requires that
an applicant be homeless and a single parent, or a displaced homemaker. By
homeless we mean:
- A victim of family violence
- Temporarily doubled up in another person’s residence or in over-crowded
conditions
- Transient/Living on the street
- Currently in:
- Emergency shelter
- Hotel/motel
- Transitional facility
- Condemned or substandard home
- All applicants must be truly committed to working toward
self-sufficiency through job training, education, life skill preparation and
self-reliance.
- Working toward a safe, secure, and stable life for yourself and your
children must be your top priority.
- Your attendance at support groups and parenting classes is mandatory.

- On-site coin-operated laundry facilities
- Fenced-in play area
- Security Deposit required
- 24 hour emergency maintenance
- Walking distance to stores, services, post office, banks, pharmacy,
restaurants
